Protagonists

Tsveti (11)

Tsveti is very conscientious about practicing and playing the violin. Her father tries to protect her from being forced into an early marriage which would end her schooling and her musical education. This challenges and confronts some of the traditional structures of the ghetto.

Misho (7) and Zorka (9)

Misho and Zorka's parents want to provide a better future for their children, preferably outside the ghetto. Nevertheless, they struggle on a daily basis to even cover their basic living costs. The family is looking for a new flat outside of Nadeshda and soon are confronted with the hostility and suspicion of the Bulgarian neighbourhood.
